Pregnancy & Infant Loss Day of Remembrance 2026

Graphic reading “October 15th is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Day of Remembrance: reflections on being with grief from a perinatal mental health therapist who has been there too,” above a photo of hands holding a lit candle in a glass jar

The whole month of October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month, a time to be tender with ourselves and each other. If you have experienced a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, TFMR, stillbirth, infant loss, or an infertility grief journey, please know you are not alone.

What You Can Do:

  • Honor this important month by sharing stories in person with friends and family, as well as online.
  • Resource yourself with support from others who understand and perinatal mental health-certified therapists who can provide specialized care, including Postpartum Support International’s (PSI) support groups.
  • Take time for ritual, whether it’s lighting a candle, going through photos, creating art like a painted memory stone, or writing a story or poem for self-expression.
Graphic with four reflections on grief: there is no timeline on grief, and we grieve because we loved; you may want to join the International Wave of Light at 7pm tonight by lighting a candle; partners often grieve differently, so be patient and ask before talking; grief comes and goes, and it won’t always feel overwhelming

I’ll be lighting a candle tonight for the Wave of Remembrance at 7:00 PM, and I hope you will join me if you have also experienced loss along your fertility journey.

If you are navigating similar feelings, you might also find comfort in reading my previous post about speaking on healing through creative arts for the ceremony honoring Pregnancy and Infant Loss Day of Remembrance at PILSOS.
