People come to therapy from very different places: a fertility journey, a birth that didn’t go as hoped, a postpartum season that feels heavier than expected, or older experiences that still surface. This page is a map. Start with the description that most closely matches your experience; you don’t need to have it all figured out first.

Care organized around what you’re facing
Perinatal mental health
the broad umbrella across fertility, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and reproductive loss. A good place to begin if more than one description fits.
Postpartum depression & anxiety
for depression, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, anger, and overwhelm after a baby.
Infertility & reproductive mental health
for fertility treatment stress, pregnancy and infant loss, and the grief and decisions that come with them.
Trauma & EMDR
for birth and medical trauma and other past experiences that still feel present, including EMDR.
Couples therapy
for partners navigating the reproductive journey and the shift into parenthood together.
Perinatal support group
held at Kate Sessions Memorial Park in San Diego. The current six-week group meets Fridays, October 23 through December 4, 2026, with a break for Thanksgiving, and you can still ask to join.
Needs, not just methods
You don’t need to know clinical terms to begin. It helps, though, to understand that a need (postpartum anxiety, birth trauma, fertility grief) is distinct from a method: the approach used to help. Ashley uses multiple approaches, including EMDR (with intensives offered on a case-by-case basis), Internal Family Systems-informed work, and mindfulness-based CBT. You don’t have to know the methods to choose a starting point; the pages above are organized around what you’re facing.
Ashley has written about these experiences too. Read her articles, kept as she wrote them.
How and where you’ll meet
Most therapy is virtual, throughout California and Nevada. In San Diego, in-person options include a Pacific Beach office, walk-and-talk sessions, and perinatal home visits. Details are on the availability page. For session rates and insurance, see fees & insurance.
